How do you clean a fabric sofa? Keep your furniture looking great for years to come!

The sofa is the heart of home life – the place for movie marathons, morning coffee, evening chats, and… the occasional accidental spill. To ensure your sofa looks great not just right after purchase, but for many seasons to come, it's time to learn a few simple tricks. Here’s how to care for your fabric upholstery effectively yet gently.
Don't wait until dust and stains give your sofa a new colour. Regular vacuuming is the simplest way to maintain freshness and hygiene. Dirt that settles on the fabric surface penetrates deeper over time, causing stubborn stains.
How often? At least once a week – ideally with a soft brush or a special upholstery attachment that won't damage the fibres.
Don't forget hard-to-reach places: between cushions, under them, and on the sides. This is where crumbs, dust, and pet hair accumulate.
What else can you do? Wipe the entire surface with a dry or slightly damp microfibre cloth. This protects the material while effectively removing fine dust, fingerprints, and hand cream residue. This quickly freshens up your everyday look without the need for deep cleaning.

Spilled wine, coffee, or a chocolate smudge? Reaction time is crucial! The faster you act, the greater the chance the stain will disappear without a trace, without the need for a thorough cleaning of the entire surface.
Note: Always test any cleaning agent – even a natural one – in an inconspicuous spot before use. This will help you avoid unsightly discolouration or damage to the fabric.
Stains are not souvenirs. They are details you can control – if you handle them with care and finesse.

Grease stains: Sprinkle cornstarch or baking soda on the affected area, leave it for 15-30 minutes, then vacuum thoroughly. The powder will absorb excess grease, making cleaning easier.
Wine: First blot the stain with a paper towel, then carefully wash it with a vinegar-water solution. Avoid hot water, as it can set the stain.
Coffee: Lightly dampen the stain with cold water, then use a mixture of water and a few drops of dish soap. Gently dab and blot.
Pen or crayon stains: Apply salicylic acid to a cotton pad and gently touch the stain – do not rub. It works locally and effectively.
These simple methods can work wonders – provided you apply them immediately and gently.
You’ll find numerous upholstery cleaning foams and sprays in stores. This is a quick solution, but it requires some care.
After cleaning: Always air out the room thoroughly and allow the sofa to dry completely – preferably naturally, without using a hairdryer to speed up drying. Moisture trapped in the upholstery can lead to unpleasant odours or mould growth.
Special products are a great help – provided they are used consciously and in moderation.

Your sofa deserves a little spa treatment at least every few months. Regular, thorough cleaning not only renews the appearance of the furniture but also removes allergens, dust mites, and odours that accumulate over time.
You can:
After such cleaning, it’s worth letting the furniture dry completely – preferably in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
Prevention is better than cure. Proper care will keep your upholstery in good condition for a long time.
A protected sofa is a sofa that retains its charm longer – and doesn't need frantic scrubbing after every little mishap.
By taking care of your sofa, you ensure your daily comfort. It doesn't have to be difficult or time-consuming – a few good habits and a little attention are enough. After all, a sofa is more than just a piece of furniture. It is a witness to your conversations, relaxation, and daily rituals.
If you take care of it, it will reward you with softness for years. And if you want to add a touch of freshness, cushions from the Pillovely collection will do the trick in no time.

Loveseat - What Is It, Who Is It For and How to Choose the Right One?
A loveseat is one of those pieces of furniture that can completely change how a room works. It is smaller than a classic sofa, more generous than a single armchair and often easier to place in compact interiors. A loveseat can create a cosy sitting area in a small living room, soften a bedroom corner, complete a reading nook or work as an additional seat next to a larger sofa. Its strength lies in proportion: it gives you the feeling of a sofa without taking over the whole room.

Autumn colors at home – shades that bring peace and warmth
Do you remember autumn from your childhood, when the leaves changed color like a kaleidoscope, and your mom would pull out the pumpkin-colored sweater she'd worn since college? Or those evenings in front of the TV while a storm raged outside, and the lamplight in the house gave everything a warm, amber hue? Those were the days when no one talked about "color palettes" or "color stories"—colors simply existed, as natural as breathing. Today, when we can choose from 50 shades of gray (and no, I'm not talking about THAT book), we sometimes lose track of what truly makes a home feel cozy. At Pillovely, we believe that autumn colors aren't a trend—they're a return to what makes us feel safe. Because "You are someone"—someone who deserves a space filled with colors that snuggle like a grandma's blanket.
