Pill-Leseecke: William Golding – Lord of the Flies
- door Daniel Pawlik
„If you lie in bed as long as I do, you do a lot of thinking. I know people. I know myself. And I know him. He can't hurt you. But if you back down, he'll get his revenge on someone else. And that someone will be me.” – William Golding – Lord of the Flies
It is terrifying how quickly people, in this case young people, can lose their humanity.
The story of a group of British students who find refuge on a deserted island after a plane crash.
Without supervision and norms, they try to shape their own lives, taking advantage of the freedom that an island far from civilization offers them.
Over time, however, groups form, and the situation gets out of control.
Even though this story is difficult and at times brutal, it is worth knowing to realize how little it takes to gradually descend into barbarism.
And now let's see what other readers think about this book on Lubimyczytac.pl:
A brilliant novel on many levels. It not only tells of the fragile social contract that binds us, but is also a parable of how crises foster tyranny and a bitter reflection on humanity.

When reason sleeps, spirits awaken. An excellent social allegory. I read it with bated breath until the end. Of course, one could criticize the lack of female characters, but form and content remain timeless, and any productions with a similar motive, such as the TV series "Lost", pale in comparison.

I didn't think I would read this book so quickly. I'm sure it will give me some thoughts on human nature. The conclusions can also be applied to the modern world. An interesting, if somewhat disturbing vision…

Loveseat - What Is It, Who Is It For and How to Choose the Right One?
A loveseat is one of those pieces of furniture that can completely change how a room works. It is smaller than a classic sofa, more generous than a single armchair and often easier to place in compact interiors. A loveseat can create a cosy sitting area in a small living room, soften a bedroom corner, complete a reading nook or work as an additional seat next to a larger sofa. Its strength lies in proportion: it gives you the feeling of a sofa without taking over the whole room.

Autumn colors at home – shades that bring peace and warmth
Do you remember autumn from your childhood, when the leaves changed color like a kaleidoscope, and your mom would pull out the pumpkin-colored sweater she'd worn since college? Or those evenings in front of the TV while a storm raged outside, and the lamplight in the house gave everything a warm, amber hue? Those were the days when no one talked about "color palettes" or "color stories"—colors simply existed, as natural as breathing. Today, when we can choose from 50 shades of gray (and no, I'm not talking about THAT book), we sometimes lose track of what truly makes a home feel cozy. At Pillovely, we believe that autumn colors aren't a trend—they're a return to what makes us feel safe. Because "You are someone"—someone who deserves a space filled with colors that snuggle like a grandma's blanket.
