"Nobody rewards us for being normal." - Hugh Howey, "Silo"

I won't deny that I only discovered this series after it was released as a TV show (a very successful one, by the way) on a streaming platform. However, before the first season ended, I was lucky enough to read the entire story from the three books.

Imagine that the world outside is uninhabitable, and humanity is trapped in a multi-story underground structure called "Silos." Imagine that those trapped there have their own dreams, ambitions, and feelings.

A ready-made recipe for a barrel of TNT, where the punishment for disobeying orders is to go outside and die in agony...

We experience the entire story from the perspective of the new sheriff, a former mechanic whose top priority is to repair the broken system. In this case, the "system" is the Silo.

I invite you to explore all the levels of the "Silos" – from the lowest to the highest.

And as always, at the end, we'll see what other readers think of this book.

"Silos" captivates from the very first page. The author skillfully portrays life in an isolated community, where every decision can lead to disaster. The oppressive atmosphere grows with each chapter, and the characters feel exceptionally credible and emotional. As the plot unfolds, the reader increasingly understands how this world functions and begins to grasp its brutal rules. You simply cannot put this book down.

For me, "Silos" is one of the best dystopias of recent years. The book is full of tension, emotions, and brilliantly drawn characters, and the concept of the underworld works flawlessly. Each chapter adds a new piece to the puzzle, until the whole thing finally comes together into a truly moving and powerful story. This book not only entertains and captivates but also makes you think about how easily society can be manipulated. For me, it's an absolute top book and a must-read.

"Silos" is an excellent choice for dystopia fans who appreciate a slow build-up of tension and a world full of secrets. Hugh Howey creates an oppressive and depressing, yet fascinating world. The book's greatest strength lies in its storytelling, although the pace is not always even, and there are moments when the plot loses momentum. Nevertheless, it's a worthwhile read that makes you think and should definitely be given a chance.

Howey creates a vision of the future that is both terrifying and fascinating. The world of the Silo lives at its own pace, and each level holds new stories and conflicts. The plot develops thoughtfully, and even in quieter moments, you feel that everything is building towards something important. The surprises are truly gripping, and the growing danger makes it hard to put the book down. It is a nuanced and deeply emotional story about hope, control, and the fight for truth.

Loveseat - What Is It, Who Is It For and How to Choose the Right One?

A loveseat is one of those pieces of furniture that can completely change how a room works. It is smaller than a classic sofa, more generous than a single armchair and often easier to place in compact interiors. A loveseat can create a cosy sitting area in a small living room, soften a bedroom corner, complete a reading nook or work as an additional seat next to a larger sofa. Its strength lies in proportion: it gives you the feeling of a sofa without taking over the whole room.

Autumn colors at home – shades that bring peace and warmth

Do you remember autumn from your childhood, when the leaves changed color like a kaleidoscope, and your mom would pull out the pumpkin-colored sweater she'd worn since college? Or those evenings in front of the TV while a storm raged outside, and the lamplight in the house gave everything a warm, amber hue? Those were the days when no one talked about "color palettes" or "color stories"—colors simply existed, as natural as breathing. Today, when we can choose from 50 shades of gray (and no, I'm not talking about THAT book), we sometimes lose track of what truly makes a home feel cozy. At Pillovely, we believe that autumn colors aren't a trend—they're a return to what makes us feel safe. Because "You are someone"—someone who deserves a space filled with colors that snuggle like a grandma's blanket.
