Pilla's Reading Corner: Harry Hole series - Jo Nesbø

"‘In the end’ means the distance in time between what’s weighing you down today and the day when nothing weighs on you anymore, Harry." - Jo Nesbø, The Thirst
Harry Hole - a tough nut to crack, or perhaps a lost soul?
One thing is certain: despite the obstacles life throws his way and the increasingly complicated cases, he remains effective at what he does. This series is undoubtedly a classic of crime fiction. Alongside Harry, across 13 volumes, we traverse crime scenes from sun-drenched Australia through humid Thailand, ending in icy Norway.
Regardless of the weather, in each of these places, Harry must contend with ruthless adversaries playing cat and mouse. The fact that he battles himself daily doesn't make it any easier.
Now, let's look at three opinions from other readers on Lubimyczytac.pl who also enjoyed this series. Their words show how diverse perceptions of Harry Hole's story can be, and yet how strong emotions and appreciation this series evokes among crime fiction lovers:
A crime novel that, from the very beginning, strikes with too many subplots. Later, however, it picks up pace. The action moments in the book are described quite chaotically, which reflects the chaos of the situation described. An interesting read for people who want to read something different.

I really enjoyed reading this book. From beginning to end, I was so drawn into the story that I couldn't put it down.

Another part of the Harry Hole series, equally brilliant. The author is starting to accustom me to the need for patience while reading. The culmination of this is an excellent plot with an unexpected resolution.

Autumn colors at home – shades that bring peace and warmth
Do you remember autumn from your childhood, when the leaves changed color like a kaleidoscope, and your mom would pull out the pumpkin-colored sweater she'd worn since college? Or those evenings in front of the TV while a storm raged outside, and the lamplight in the house gave everything a warm, amber hue? Those were the days when no one talked about "color palettes" or "color stories"—colors simply existed, as natural as breathing. Today, when we can choose from 50 shades of gray (and no, I'm not talking about THAT book), we sometimes lose track of what truly makes a home feel cozy. At Pillovely, we believe that autumn colors aren't a trend—they're a return to what makes us feel safe. Because "You are someone"—someone who deserves a space filled with colors that snuggle like a grandma's blanket.
